Philip F. Abraham

Philip F. Abraham, served as a Special Assistant and subsequently as Senior Assistant for Policy to two Virginia Governors from 1982 to 1986. In 1986, he left public service to obtain his law degree and in 1989, Abraham joined the Richmond law firm of Hazel & Thomas, P.C., where he practiced in the administrative law section and specialized in representing clients before Virginia State agencies and the Virginia General Assembly. Abraham left the private practice of law when he became Director and General Counsel of The Vectre Corporation in December 1996.

Abraham has been active in Virginia politics since 1979, and has worked with Ben Dendy in a variety of public and private sector capacities for nearly 30 years. Their collaborations include jointly working for two Governors and a host of private sector clients.

Abraham served as a founding member of the Virginia Code Commission's Administrative Law Advisory Committee and is a past Chairman of the Administrative Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. He is a former Chairman of the Virginia Recycling Markets Development Council, a state commission to which he was appointed by Governor Jim Gilmore and reappointed by Governor Mark Warner and Governor Tim Kaine.  He also served as a member of the Board of Governors of Temple Beth El, and as the Chairman of the Temple Beth El Foundation in Richmond. Abraham graduated from Kenyon College in 1979, received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989 and is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

An owner of Vectre and a member of its Board of Directors since 1995, Abraham is also General Counsel and Secretary-Treasurer of the corporation.
