Christopher J. Whyte
Christopher Whyte joined The Vectre Corporation after serving four years as a member of Governor Jim Gilmore's senior staff as Director of Scheduling. Whyte also worked with Gilmore in the same capacity in the Office of the Attorney General. Prior to his tenure with Gilmore, Whyte was a special assistant in the administration of Governor George Allen. He also was a member of two successful republican gubernatorial campaigns in Virginia. Whyte also contributed to the transition team of Attorney General Robert McDonnell.
With over fourteen years working in and with Virginia state government, Whyte has established a broad array of relationships in the executive and legislative branches of government. Recognized for his extensive knowledge of state government, Whyte offers our clients a unique perspective on the legislative and political process. Additionally, Whyte utilizes this vast experience for our clients to develop winning strategies for both business development and procurement opportunities. Whyte has provided numerous successful lobbying strategies for clients in the areas of privacy legislation, healthcare, higher education, tax policy, business issues, information technology policy and information technology procurement. Whyte has also utilized these skill sets to advance clients' efforts in relationship building and economic development matters.
Whyte's federal contacts and experience assist our clients in advancing projects and initiatives with the federal government as well. He played an advisory role with Governor Jim Gilmore during his term as Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Additionally, Whyte contributed to two national commissions: the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce and the Federal Commission on Domestic Terrorism and Weapons of Mass Destruction, also known as the "Gilmore Commission". This experience has provided Whyte with the tools and ability to advise our clients on a number of federal initiatives.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a degree in Political Science, Whyte continues to remain active in republican politics in Virginia. Whyte has two children and resides in Hanover County.
Whyte is an owner of the Vectre Corporation and is a member of its Board of Directors.
