Chris Whyte joined Vectre in 2002 after six years of working in the Governor's Office for Governor Jim Gilmore and Governor George Allen. During his time in the Governor's Office he served as a senior staff member to Governor Gilmore and a special assistant in the administration of Governor Allen.

Whyte also worked with Gilmore in the Office of the Attorney General and was a member of two successful Republican gubernatorial campaign staffs in Virginia. He was a member of the transition team for Governor Robert F. McDonnell when he was elected in 2009 and Governor Glenn Youngkin when he was elected in 2021.

With more than 20 plus years experience in and with Virginia state government, Whyte has established a broad array of relationships in the executive and legislative branches. Recognized for his extensive knowledge of state government, he offers clients a unique perspective on the legislative and political process and provides clients with successful strategies.

Additionally, Whyte utilizes this vast experience to develop winning approaches for both business development and procurement opportunities. He has provided numerous successful policy solutions for clients in the areas of privacy and public records legislation, telecommunications, financial services, healthcare, higher education, tax policy, budget-related issues, public safety matters, information technology policy and information technology procurement. He has also uses these skill sets to advance clients' efforts in relationship building and economic development matters. 

Whyte also maintains contacts at the federal level through relationships with Virginia's Congressional delegation.

A native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a degree in Political Science, he continues to remain active in Republican politics in Virginia. Whyte has two children and resides in Hanover County. He enjoys running, cooking, spending time outdoors and an occasional round of golf. Additionally, he retains his passion for Philadelphia pro sports and follows the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers with great interest and enthusiasm.

Whyte is an owner of The Vectre Corporation and a member of its Board of Directors.
